Why nothing is uploaded
Most online resizers send your file to a server, resize it there, and send it back. That means your unreleased thumbnail sits on someone else's disk, and you wait for two network round trips. This tool uses the Canvas API built into your browser instead: the resize happens on your own device, the result appears instantly, and there is no upload to opt out of. It also means the tool keeps working if your connection drops mid-session.
Frequently asked questions
- Are my images uploaded to a server?
- No. Every crop and resize happens inside your browser using the Canvas API. Your files never travel over the network, which is why the tool works offline once the page has loaded and why there is no sign-up.
- How many images can I resize at once?
- Up to 10 images per batch, and each one can be exported to every selected platform size in the same pass. Ten images across four presets gives you forty files in one zip.
- Why is my iPhone photo rejected?
- iPhones save photos as HEIC by default, and no browser can decode that format. Either change Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible so your phone saves JPEG, or convert the file before uploading. JPG, PNG and WebP all work.
- Will my photos come out rotated?
- No. Phone cameras record orientation as EXIF metadata rather than rotating the pixels, and a naive canvas resize ignores it. This tool reads that metadata and applies the rotation before cropping, so portrait shots stay upright.
